Events for 2010 in Hastings and 1066 Country

For a brief taster of some of the events, see the following events:

21st March – Hastings Half Marathon, recognised as one of the best half marathon events.

2nd April: Battle Marbles Match - held on Abbey Green in the shadow of historic Battle Abbey gatehouse and Abbey behind.

30th April – 3rd May: Jack in the Green Festival of Morris Dancing (with a twist), Hastings

28th May – 31st May – Black Horse music festival in Telham, near Battle
30th May and 31st May – Battle Medieval Fayre held on the Green (no longer grass I’m afraid), just outside Battle Abbey gatehouse.

5th – 25th July: Battle Scarecrow Festival – over 40 scarecrows to visit and vote for.

31st July – 8th August: Hastings Old Town Carnival Week, with events such as the Seaboot Race, Pirate Day and the Pram Race.

29th August: Rye Raft Race.
18th – 19th September = Hastings Seafood and Wine festival
9th  and 10th October  - Battle of Hastings re-enactment at Battle Abbey

16th October: National Town Criers’ Championship, Hastings

End of October: World Crazy Golf Championships, Hastings

October & November: Hastings, Battle, Rye and Robertsbridge Bonfire Processions and Fireworks – part of this special Sussex Bonfires tradition.
