Brightling International Horse Trials
Many spectators bring a picnic and come, year after year, to relish the unique atmosphere and meet up with old friends, as well as making new ones too.

The Best Trotters and Riders
With 400 local, international and Olympic entries, this is a highly competitive and challenging event. The horse trials are split into three disciplines covering dressage, show jumping and cross-country. Truly the ultimate test for horse and rider - and organisers.
A Spectacular Setting
The course is run over 450 acres of country estate, privately owned and cared for by the Grissell family. The Park, once home to 'Mad' Jack Fuller (philanthropist, iron master, MP), is the setting for several of his eccentric and beautiful Georgian follies and was landscaped in the 18th century by Capabilitiy Brown.
Licensed Bar, Food Outlets and Trade Stands
Many of our local businesses have trade stands with a countryside or equestrian bias - so shop around for a gift or even a bargain. The friendly and well stocked bar is often the focal point of the visitors.
