Battle Scarecrow Festival 2010

The Festival will run from 5th to 25th July, and these characters will be on display in key sites in Battle...as close to the town centre as possible. The number of locations will be less than in 2009, and the number of scarecrows on each site increased.....a ploy to focus on both the quantity and the quality within a limited area........whilst also reducing on potential problems with vandalism.
The categories in 2010 will be...
Best Adult entry,
Best Adult Group entry,
Best Junior entry
Best Junior Group,
Best using recycled materials,
Best Commercial,
The Peoples Choice.
The unknown factor is as yet the theme for 2010.....and this will be MARKET DAY.
Entry forms for the Battle Scarecrow Festival 2010 can be downloaded here. Make sure you submit your entry by 30th April. There is bound to be some good competition, judging by the entries last year.
A Scarecrow Workshop is also planned as a part of the Festival, and a Scarecrow Needlework Display will be on show at Battle Library.
