Mentoring Project for Care Leavers (East Sussex Children’s Services) is looking for volunteers to support young people leaving care in the local area.
Do you remember what it felt like being a teenager? Do you remember what it is like leaving home? Do you have an interest in working with young people? Do you have a few hours spare each week?
We want people from all walks of life to help young people aged 16 – 21 to make the transition to adulthood with confidence. No educational qualifications necessary, training and supervision provided. Contact the Elderly provides companionship for elderly isolated people by organising monthly Sunday afternoon teas held in volunteer hosts’ homes.

The Royal National Institute for the Blind’s mission is to challenge sight loss, by empowering people who are blind or partially sighted, removing the barriers they face and helping to prevent blindness. Come and make a difference in your local community by helping us in various fundraising activities near you! If you have got a couple of hours spare every once in a while, or are looking to get involved on a more regular basis then we have something for you ranging from helping collect money from donations by the public at supermarkets near you, to co-ordinating the fundraising effort to gain maximum support for people with sight loss. Hastings and Rother Credit Union provides savings and low cost loans to members who live/work in Hastings and Rother. They are seeking volunteers to get involved in various ways such as office administration, working at one of the three collections points (Hollington Community Centre, Hastings Trust and the Community Information Centre in Silchester Road), and giving presentations – explaining the Credit Union to groups across Hastings and Rother. The Multiple Sclerosis Society – Hastings and Rother Branch is passionate about supporting people affected by multiple sclerosis The team offers support and information to all those affected by MS, their families and carers. They would love to welcome a new Branch Chair to help lead the team in making even more of a mark in the area and bringing new ideas and perspectives for the future! You will provide leadership to the branch, ensuring that the committee works together as an effective team to provide the services and activities necessary to meet the needs of local people affected by MS.
