The Community Fruit and Veg Project also operates the Hastings Farmers Market that was started under the Five A Dat scheme.  The Market operates on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.

Battle Memorial Hall is one of the drop off points for the Project with the aim of helping to promote the ideal 'Eat Fresh, Eat Local'.  The drop off point operates iin the foyer at Battle Memorial Hall every Friday between 12.00 and 13.00 hours.

There are currently two main types of Veg Box, as at January 2010:

A Standard Veg Box which is priced at £7.00 and includes a selection of produce sourced whenever possible from farms in East Sussex and Kent.  It always contains potatoes as well as a variety of other seasonal vegetables.  The box also includes a small amount of locally grown fruit if it available.

A box which includes imported fruit is priced at £8.50 and this will include potatoes as well as four or five other varieties of vegetables and approximately four different types of fruit.

Both boxes can be affected by seasonal variations.
